Trust Forums

The role of the Trust Forums is to share good practice, ideas and initiatives with the School Forums through individual representatives attendance at their relevant Trust Forums.


The Trust Forums are were specific representatives can get together with individuals with the same role in schools close to them.


Meetings are led by 'experts' in their field and facilitated by the Trust's Governance Professional.

The following Trust Forums meet twice throughout the academic year, in line with the Agenda, and all meetings will be remote.


  • Marketing
  • Citizenship and sustainability
  • Church and Community links


The Chairs' Forum also meets once ever academic year.


Each member will be selected by their School Forum.


Details of the role of the Trust Forum are below.

The Role of the Church and Community Links Representative


The role of the Church and Community Links Representative is to develop and improve existing links between the school and the local community and church - helping the school to be the anchor in its community.


The representative will:

  • Act as the primary link between the School Forum, the school, the community and the church.
  • Act as the primary link between the School Forum and the school's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) / Friends Committee, attending meetings as required and creating collaborative opportunities.
  • Facilitate the Trust Board's and the Central Team's understanding of the local context of the school.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with the local church to promote the church being actively involved in the life of the school and the school being actively involved in the life of the church.
  • Support communication between the school and the church to actively promote upcoming events and initiatives.
  • Build new and strengthen existing relationships within the community, for example local charities, local businesses, PCC and Parish / Town Council and other local groups / organisations seeking opportunities to collaborate and work together for the benefit of the school's children and the community.
  • Provide feedback for future possible actions that can be taken to develop church and community links.
  • Lead on agreed actions, related to the individual role, acting on behalf of the School Forum.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to the School Forum as appropriate to the role.
  • Encourage the School Forum to be more visible in the local community.
  • Act in accordance with the School Forums Membership and Operating Model and Code of Conduct for School Forum Representatives.

The Citizenship and Sustainability Representative

The role of the Citizenship & Sustainability Representative is to support and help to drive the school's activities and initiatives to develop citizenship and environmental sustainability.


The Representative will:

  • Lead / support the leadership of the school's Eco Committee, attending meetings as required, working in partnership with the Headteacher / Principal.
  • Act as the primary link between the School Forum and the school's Eco Committee.
  • Facilitate the Trust Board's and the Central Team's understanding of the local context of the school.
  • Build connections with sustainability charities and organisations in the local community to establish opportunities for collaboration for the benefit of the children and the community.
  • Champion all activities related to climate change within the School Forum and the school community.
  • Keep up to date with local and national sustainability initiatives, resources and requirements and share them with the School Forum.
  • Research whether there are any financial assistance / grants available that could assist the school with improving their environmental sustainability.
  • Provide feedback and ideas on how to make the school and PDET more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
  • Identify possible opportunities for the children to engage with community members and organisations which help to provide citizenship experiences.
  • Assist the school in participating in projects that promote pupils' understanding of social responsibility and community involvement.
  • Provide feedback for future possible actions that can be taken to develop citizenship and sustainability.
  • Lead on agreed actions, related to the individual role, acting on behalf of the School Forum.
  • Provide verbal and written reports to the School Forum as appropriate to the role.
  • Encourage the School Forum to be more visible in the local community.
  • Act in accordance with the School Forums Membership and Operating Model and Code of Conduct for School Forums.

The Marketing Representative

The role of the Marketing Representative is to actively support and help to drive the school's marketing activities and initiatives to enhance its visibility, reputation and reach via social media and other promotional, marketing opportunities.


The Representative will:

  • Drive efforts to raise awareness of the school, especially during the school place application period in the Autumn term, ensuring a strong and appealing presence to prospective parents / carers.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to market the school's unique offerings, achievements, and successes, showcasing the school's strengths to both current and prospective families.
  • Support the school's social media presence highlighting the school's activities, values, and achievements.
  • Seek opportunities to promote the school's additional offering e.g. wrap around care, nursery provision.
  • Provide feedback and ideas on how the school could appeal to more parents / carers and how to market the school more effectively, following attendance at the Trust Forums.
  • Lead on agreed actions, related to the individual role, acting on behalf of the School Forum.
  • Encourage the School Forum to be more visible in the local community.
  • Facilitate the Trust Board's and the Central Team's understanding of the local context of the school.
  • Act in accordance with the School Forums Membership and Operating Model and Code of Conduct for School Forum Representatives.
